About Your Technician

Hi, I’m Joel! I’m a certified piano technician with the Apex Piano Technician’s Network and an active member of the Piano Technicians Guild. My journey started in Springfield, Missouri, where I worked in a Piano Store and apprenticed under two master piano technicians. That mentorship and hands-on training gave me the chance to work with all kinds of pianos in all kinds of settings — and I’ve loved the craft ever since.

Over the years, I’ve tuned and serviced thousands of instruments for artists, theaters, universities, churches, and families. Some highlights include work for Dino Kartsonakis, the historic Gillioz Theatre, and Drury University. Now that I’m back in my home state of Florida, I’m grateful to bring that experience to the musicians and communities here.

I’m also a recording pianist and composer. My piece “Sycamore Breeze” has earned over two million streams on Pandora, and in both 2023 and 2024 I was selected as a Finalist with the Great American Song Contest. Having a foot in both the musical and technical worlds gives me a unique ear for tone, tuning accuracy, and voicing — and it’s a big part of why I love what I do. you can find my music here
